The Yosemite Leadership Program (YLP) is an exciting new leadership program that will launch this fall. The YLP brings together some amazing partners committed to developing environmental leaders for today and for the future.
Our Vision
The Yosemite Leadership Program strives to be the premier student environmental leadership program in the nation. The YLP will foster synergy among government, business, and academia; to develop tomorrow’s thoughtful, ethical, and innovated leaders.
Our Mission
Within the setting of two of America's most cherished landscapes at Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks and through the cooperative efforts of the organizations, the Yosemite Leadership Program seeks to realize opportunities for students at the University of California, Merced to gain practical leadership experiences through a variety of park based activities, offered by the members. Graduates of the Program will be recognized for their ability to lead and make ethical decisions that thoughtfully consider and balance opportunities and challenges, the communities in which they live and work, diversity, and the environment.
Our Partners
Some of the nation’s leaders in the fields of parks and natural resource management, hospitality management and education came together to create the Yosemite Leadership Program. This alliance between Yosemite National Park, Delaware North Companies, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park and the University of California, Merced, is committed to bringing its knowledge and available resources together to create a unique student leadership program.
