YLP Program

The YLP will combine classroom and lecture sessions with hands on fieldwork opportunities.

Instruction

Students participating in the Yosemite Leadership Program will have the opportunity to take part in lectures both on- and off- campus from a wide range of experts in their field.

Lectures will cover the history and background of Yosemite National Park to discussions on what it takes to run a world class restaurant in the middle of one of the countries most beautiful locations, and everything in between.

Fieldwork

One of the signature pieces to the Yosemite Leadership Program is the students' access to powerful fieldwork experiences.

These experiences will range from outdoor outings with the Campus Recreation program, learning opportunities at the UC Merced Wawona Field Station, to internships with Delaware North Companies and the National Park Service.

Creating successful leaders requires more than telling a student how to lead, it requires giving them hands-on experiences and then putting them in the situations to use that new found leadership expertise.
